Well after four days of motoring we were all very
relieved for the forecasted weather to move in from the NorthEast at
12knots. Engine OFF! This boat was made for sailing!!
A perfect angle for a shy spinnaker reach.
I think we are all looking forward to a stretch of
the legs on land now. Our ETA is back to Late Friday night or Early
Saturday morning. All are happy about that!!!
NEWS:
Something we have neglected to add to our blogs
recently is that on day 1 of the light weather motoring we caught a
fish...
The rod was got out for the first time 4 days ago
due to the lack of boat speed - we had always said that above 6.5knots we were
wasting our time. We were struggling to make 5 knots with the spinnaker up
so we went for it.
Within hours of the old faded and rusty squid like
hook going over the back, we were to hear the ziz of the line pouring out.
Matt went to work like a pro trying to reel in the beast.
The skipper went of to decide which of the spirits
would be spent on anethetising the catch... The fish was just about to be
gaffed and hauled over the side (we decided later it was a dolphin fish - 20
inches long) the wire at the swivel end snapped...
Thanks to Robert investing in some new hooks we
have had the line out now for a further 3 days, but not a bite! That's
fishing!!
Bye for now
