By 13.30 hrs on 11th March we were safely tied to the dock in Port Louis marina, drinking celebratory champagne having crossed our outward track and completed our circumnavigation. Asked by Bob, our crew, what was my first thought on completion and it was my gratitude to our wonderful boat who has looked after us for so many months and many thousands of miles. We could not have chosen a better boat.
Our lovely neighbours on Nexus plied us with drinks and nibbles and we were joined by some of our old friends from Grenada who had learnt from the 'eye in the sky' that we were on our way.
Our first night back in Grenada had to be enjoyed at the Aquarium Restaurant where Tim and I were married in 2000. The food was great and the setting every bit as good as we remembered. Even some of the staff remembered us.
We spent almost 3 weeks enjoying the island; catching up with old friends, hiking to Seven Sisters waterfalls, eating, drinking and partying. No Sunday is complete without a trip to Coconut Beach to bury your toes in the sand and enjoy lobsters on the BBQ and of course hugs from Pat and Scratch. We were even able to enjoy specially designed beer for St Patrick's day although I'm not too sure how good it was!
