We finally left Puerto Calero on Friday evening, having had as much wind
for the beginning of the week as ever. Most of the time it blew over 25 knots in
the marina and we both felt our sanity was being tested!
The trip down to Las Palmas is just over 110 miles and with 2 reefs in the
main and full genoa we got here just as the sun was coming up. The breakwater at
the entrance to the port is a lot bigger than the chart says and the amount of
shipping impressive.
On arrival the marina office was packed and it took an hour to clear in,
after which we were shown our “space”on the dock. We pushed and pulled and with
the help of our neighbours are now secured into a spot that didn’t exist when we
arrived! Welcome to The Arc!
