We have been back on board for 2 days since our trip and it has been back to
work and jobs. It is amazing how we take water for granted at home but not
here we don't. Sam has put on board some 600 litres using two 20 litre cans
filled from a tap some 100 metres away. He calls it weight training. We have
also taken some 160 litres of diesel, also all in cans.
To make matters worse it has been raining almost non stop for the last two
days and this is the dry season! We did manage a visit this morning to the
old fort area of Galle which is fascinating - a town within a town. And it
has an Anglican church and a Methodist Church, plus some smart cafe's and
hotels.
Last night our fiendly guides and helpers invited us to dinner at their
house and Dee Dee and his wife gave us a fine dinner of chicken and fish
curry. If you come to Sri Lanka call him on +94 777 659897 or email at
deedeesrilanka {CHANGE TO AT} hotmail {DOT} com . He will look after you and you will not be
disappointed. We thoroughly recommend him whether you need a tour or laundry
(or both).
We had been planning to leave here for the Maldives on Saturday but may
delay a day or two, depending on the weather
