17:53.988N 62:51.487W We have arrived!! This is the place to people watch and to shop till you drop. The big boats are all here and the shops are awaiting them. All the Paris designers, Swiss watch companies, South African diamond shops are here. We have spent a considerable amount of time bars just watching the comings and goings. Also took a very long hot walk up to the top of a hill to find an old Swedish fort. Didn't find the road in to it, so instead marvelled at the skill of the pilots landing their planes onto what seemed to be an impossible runway. We were told one or two in the past miscalculated their approach and landed in the drink. Good job the water's not too deep and its is warm! All in all St Barts is an exceptionally pleasant place to visit and hopefully we'll return next season.
