It took two days at sea and we had some of the best sailing we've ever had with tail winds all the way. Got up to 10 knots at times which was a tad scary but we hardly had the engine on at all. In fact we had to use the generator to charge the batteries which has never happen before. On the way out of Sardinia we came through the beautiful but very tight Fornelli Passage between Sardinia and Asinara Island which was nerve racking as the depth was down to a metre under the keel. We felt we could almost touch the bottom by reaching over the side. When we got to the really tricky part there sitting side on and stuck fast was a 60" sailing boat. Unfortunately it was right where we wanted to get through so we almost touched them as we passed by. We couldn't help just as the boats that went through before us couldn't, as we too would have got stuck. Hopefully the coastguard got them out ok.
