15:34.705N 61:27.793W. Spent a couple of days in Dominica. The northern bay, Portsmouth, is certainly the most attractive. The rainforest comes right down to the sea which gives it a South American feel. We took a boat trip up Indian River which felt like it was right the Amazon. Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was filmed here and you just see why. There were abandoned plantations with the bananas, coconuts and sugar cane just growing wild. The bird life was amazing but we didn't see the Sisserou parrot which is their national bird and on their flag. We were sold a bit of a 'bum steer' on that, however it was amazing just the same. The south of the island wasn't near as nice and the meal we had out there qqwas pretty grim. On our way south we will certainly spend a long time exploring the interior which seems to be unique. We will send pics when we get decent email.
