Hi All,
The weather improved today, I took this picture of a rainbow, don't know
why, they never look that good in pictures.
The main event of the day....
I have no idea what this is, but if it is poisonous, too late, it tasted
lovely. Half is in the fridge for tomorrow.
I felt terrible about killing such a lovely fish, Kathy had no part other
than taking the picture. She had nut roast for dinner !
This morning I unreefed the mainsail and found a hole about 2 inches across
in the middle of the sail, somehow it had been chafing while reefed. Sticky back
Dacron to the rescue, all is ok now, however lighter winds mean lower speeds, we
had hoped to make St Lucia by Sunday, but we are only just keeping over 5 knots
at the mo so more like Monday at this rate
On a more serious note boats within a few miles have sighted lots of whales
and it's a worry now it is dark, hitting a whale in the dark is a serious
business.
Even more serious, we just had a mayday sent to us about a man overboard on
a non arc yacht, about 355 miles head of us. Our course takes us right through
the MOB position, but we won't be there for 3 days, still a sharp lookout is
needed now.
Everything else is just lovely
