In May 2013 Graham and I went out to Cleopatra once more and had two days to polish and anti foul the boat and get her into the water.     We arrived to find that there was a birds nest in the boom!  Sparrows I think.  They were encouraged to fly from the nest when the tractor arrived to pull us through the yard early on launch morning!   (A reefing line pulled through the boom gave them incentive to leave!)

We were duly  hoisted into the water and spent a few days in the marina polishing and cleaning.   The reason for all the extra cleaning was that the 'brown rain' had left the boat extra dirty AND we had friends of friends coming to see Gilly B as prospective new owners!!    We had some variable weather but were able to spend several days showing Vivienne and Peter the boat and cruising around the Ionian   They decided they would like to buy the boat and we were delighted!   They are keen sailors and enthusiastic about spending time in the Mediterranean so they are the ideal couple to take over Gilly B!   As their holiday came to an end and they flew home to make all the necessary arrangements,  we were able to spend our last few weeks aboard our much loved boat.

We had Susie on board for a short week just before her birthday and the weather began to improve.  One of the first swims was Graham having to snorkel under the boat with an extra bit of hose attached to remove the rope cutter cover (accidently left in place) and to check the stops that he had replaced in the propellor.  It worked allowing him some extra breathing space BUT DON'T try this at home!  It is a bit dodgy apparently!

On the 1st July Vivienne and Peter took over the boat and spent a week with Graham going through the inventory and having more sailing around the Ionian.   They are keeping the name Gilly B and are even taking over the blog!!   We are so pleased that she has such lovely new owners (see picture) and we wish them many more years and sea miles and adventures with her.

 Best Wishes
