Hello Family & Friends,
Position: Port Andraixt -
Mallorca
We have done very well and are now in Mallorca in a
very attractive port - a bit like dartmouth with sun and without any charge for
anchoring!
A couple of days ago we were cruising along slowly
and Grahan caught another fish. Not huge but this time it did not
get away and I do have a photo of it.... But... I cannot show you it
because the fisherman was displaying rather more than just his fish!!
Unwittingly I have the wrong angle on the angler if you see what I
mean! Still - enough of his white bits (and his tackle) the fish was
BBQ'd and was a delicious starter.
Ibiza was a pretty island despite its rather bad
press. We found a lovely cala called Port Roig which had loads of
boats anchored in it because it was protected from the northeast winds which
were set to blow. It was stunning scenery and only fisherman huts
along the edges and a few houses on the cliffs. The anchorage
is a free for all and a bit of a zoo! You just find a spot and go for
it. During the night a few more boats came in and a frenchman got
very excited and blew his foghorn at us to say we were too close.
Graham was very polite but another frenchman stood on the front of his boat
giving the old frenchman a really good talking to! It seemed to
involve a lecture on giving France a bad name etc.
There was another cala with a beach and we went
ashore in the tender and I walked 100 yards
and did the shopping then got back in the tender - simples. We
had a windy crossing with squalls & RAIN! briefly. but arrived in
Port Andraixt in sunshine. We have been ashore twice and swum and
BBQ'd - you get the picture!
