Hello Friends and Family,
Its all Andrew's fault!! We were having
coffee in Mahon with Andrew & Josie and using the internet services and
Andrew suggested I could go on face book as easy as anything right there while
having my coffee! So I did and since then we have had about 19 e-mails
telling us who wants to be a "friend".... you can imagine Graham
when we got to the next internet cafe'...! Oops. I wasn't very
popular..(bet he's just jealous) !! A quick call to Susie has
sorted out that I can block the e-mail alerts and just do the face book bit
when we have time. (Which may be a week or two).
We were delighted to meet up with Josie &
Andrew (Volare) as we hadn't seen them since we did Rally Portugal and we left
them in Villamoura. We introduced them to Mahon, and its Gin
(!) and had some lovely evenings in theirs and our cockpits.
We also bumped into Ron & Hazel (Naivasha) from
Rally P. They were in a supermarket and Graham spotted Ron as we were
leaving. All six of us managed to block the door in the supermarket
while we caught up.
We left Andrew & Josie exploring Menorca and we
left early on Monday to sail down the coast towards Menorca. We stopped
one last night on Menorca in a really lovely place called Cala Son Saura
which was quiet and a pine forest back drop with vivid blue water and white
sand.
Next morning we left Son Saura and headed across to
Mallorca where we picked up a bouy (FREE for a change) in Pollensa.
A large bay but it was quite busy with motor boats, tourist boats etc. A
beautiful sunset behind the mountains which are much higher than the hills on
Menorca.
Next day (Wed) we headed round to Port Soller
(where if you are paying attention - we have been before!) We had 25knots
of levante behind us so a fast passage. (35 miles in about 5
hours).
We are on our way round to Palma to pick up Duncan
& Mel so more of Mallorca to come yet.
P.S. For Doc & James.... Second best buy
(after our water filter) was our bit of net curtain (£2.50 in the Coop) it
keeps the mosquitos out of the boat very well. We peg it
on!
