Tobago Cays is the best place we have been in the Caribbean so far. By some distance. We are extending our stay. Last night, we had a beach BBQ on the beach organised by Michael (one of the guys taking care of visitors here). The fish was drenched in garlic and seasoned to perfection - simply outstanding. Plantains and multiple salads completed the fish. All washed down with lashings of rum punch. Right there on the beach infront of the most gorgeous sunset even seen! Prior to the meal we walked around the little island and saw possums and cool iguanas. But the real attraction here is beneath the waves. Right under our keel are rays the size of dining tables and trigger fish of intimidating size! The reef east of here is teeming with fish. Morten and I ran into no fewer than four sharks on our snorkelling trip this afternoon. There are turtles everywhere and the enormous banks of coral are - there is no other word for it - perfect. As anyone experienced with the underwater world knows, this is extremely rare these days. Finally, the bird life is insane. My ornithologist brother has seen 69 species of which 32 were lifers, that is, new even to him! Life is good!
