Immediately upon arriving here you are confronted with perhaps the defining characteristic of the anglophone world: massive disparities in wealth. We are anchored next to a dozen super yachts in Falmouth Harbour; it feels like a veritable Pearl Habour of Superyachts. Meanwhile, you don’t have to spend too many minutes ashore to see poor people. In the French West Indies (FWIs) the contrasts seemed far less extreme, or maybe the rich French just don’t flaunt their wealth in quite the same blatant manner! Still, there are very pretty little views here like the onenin the picture, a yacht anchored in one of the hurricane holes in English Harbour.
