We just had the 3rd covid vaccination (Pfizer booster). The Guadeloupe medical authorities went out of their way to help us. Despite our poor French and lack of French documents - and one of our group is not even an EU citizen - they treated us wonderfully well and made sure we got the shots. I am so grateful. And I am reminded of the last time I came to the Caribbean as a simple labourer back in the late 1980s. Back then, I received the same warm, hospitable treatment. When I experience such generous behaviour towards us, foreigners, I feel doubly ashamed by how badly my own country - Denmark - and most other rich countries treat people from abroad. Well done, Guadeloupe! Respect!
