July
5, 2010 9:00 pm We
let go our lines around noon time after farewells to family, Tulin, Yeshim,
Sean, Sibelle and Lili all said goodbye. So did Lisa and Eva. We had the usual
pictures taken. I cannot forget to mention Gigi and Coco, they were there also.
There was not much wind and we had to motor until about 5 pm. We put up the
spinnaker and around the time the sun was getting ready to set the wind picked
up and we made around 7-5 knots for about two hours. The dinner was the chicken
and salad that the wives had bought. We made vinaigrette mustard dressing. Fruit
cups with cookies was the desert. Beautiful Sunset with Venus appearing in the
western sky. We plan to anchor around midnight close to the tip of Long Island.
We will top off the gas tanks before we head out to the Atlantic
tomorrow. We
will cross the Atlantic July

nights sleep. Went to bed around 1:00 am after we anchored and got up around
5:30 am. The MRI was cozy, and comfortable while at an anchorage. It remains to
be seen how it will feel underway with 10 ft waves. Got underway around 6:00 am.
Not much wind we have to make Martha’s Vineyard before 5:00 pm so we can top off
the tanks with fuel. If this lack of wind continues we will need all the fuel we
can carry. David made Breakfast (Scrambled eggs, Turkey bacon, bread and jam) I
did the dishes. Have to develop a new system! Now we are motor sailing towards
Martha’s Vineyard. We have at least another 7 hours to go. Seas are calm and
glassy. No seasickness yet. |
