Dear All,

Well, we motor-sailed with just the mainsail out all day yesterday and half of today, too, but at 13:00 we finally got our West-S-Westerly breeze up to a max of 17/18 (now down to 14 again) knots this afternoon.

So we switched the engine off after lunch and then set our Genoa, goose-winged and poled out. We are now heading pretty much Easterly, which is a little early to be heading direct for the Azores, but this is the way the GRIB files seem to indicate we will best stick with what little breeze there will be later tonight.

Early tomorrow morning we expect to be on the other tack, close reaching in very light winds, so there is a lot about to happen to the weather overnight.

None of it is very dramatic, though, fortunately, but there's just too little of it!

The day has in fact been very quiet and the weather quite lovely. No ships, no yachts and no seabirds. Just one lonely loose fishing float, which passed close by our starboard side.

Also no fish have taken our lure yet (except, surprisingly, for one baby Jack, a long way out from home, which we threw back, instead of using as further bait, which might have been a better plan).

So we will have to try our fishing game again tomorrow, now there is room in the freezer to store away any excess!

Hah! Dream on! Fat chance!

But we at least have the full sushi kit on board, complete with pickled ginger, Nori seaweed wraps and wasabi, so, who knows.......

Anyway, here we are still trying desperately to hang onto the last of the fair breeze to sail with, but our best information seems to indicate that it will be all change and back onto motor, most probably, around 02:00 am tomorrow mornning.

All is well otherwise.

Best wishes,

Yours Aye from the "Sulana" crew.
