More photos - to catch up

Sulana's Voyage
Alan and Sue Brook

So, here we are again, trying to catch up with photos that should have been entered in days ago, but here’s to bringing you all up to date so far:

Sarah is ready for anything – Roches Douvres to port or not!

And on to Ushant – Richard showing that it really was quite chilly in the Northerly.

A bit of a way still to go to Ushant, though.

So, there were other places from which to hide and do one’s watch-keeping....

But, Hey! Who cares, if you are going to cross Biscay for the first time at this speed and with this breeze and direction! Perfick! Good weather forecast.

Time to practise Jim MacN’s dark art!    It is definitely not as easy as he said it was.

Aha! Is this what Sue was so concerned about? Did she know something we don’t?

Could it possibly get any worse, and is it headed anywhere near to our track?

What! A hurricane? Headed North-East? Surely that’s towards us! Aren’t we headed that way?
I don’t recall Ian, Jim or Stacey teaching us about these in our Yachtmaster’s course at WMYC?

Oh, that’s OK then. Not just your average old storm, but an EXTRA-Tropical one, with a girl’s name, too!
However, Altair is still a long way South of us for now, so, NW, it should pass us by on the outside of the bend.....

Aaaahhhh! That’s more like it. That’s what we want. Now life can continue as normal.
Hannah’s in the galley, cooking up her own brand of storm!

Whilst above deck the big ‘Sula’ on our spinnaker is pulling us along at great speed and in comfort.

Fiona’s first in the Chart table zone, writing up the log, on the hour. Well, if she didn’t do it Alan would certainly forget!
He’s enjoying the sailing too much.

Just as sunset falls upon the world as we know it.

Then, the very next day, she’s in the galley, too, acting as our very own Nigella, with her recipe for banana Chocolate muffins, out of the Mail on Sunday.

Yummy! Yes, please.

So far so good. More still to follow later.............
