Monday January 6th   Marigot Bay  13:57.916 N  61:01.424 W  Distance travelled 63 miles.

Because we were not allowed spend a day in St Vincent, after checking out, we were up at 05.30 and immediately set the main, weighed anchor at 05.50 and were first out of Admiralty Bay followed by two ferries heading for Kingstown St. Vincent and two yachts. Wind was easterly 20 knots so we made very good time heading North even though the seas between St Vincent and St Lucia were sometimes 3 metres high. We had to spill the main completely in one heavy rainsquall of 30 knots. We arrived at the marina in Marigot Bay well before darkness and were met by efficient and welcoming staff. Johnnie wanted to put the final touches to his tan so we spent the next two days on the beach swimming and sometimes staying in the sea during heavy showers.

Seemed to us that it rained a good deal in St Lucia but then it is very green there.

Thursday the 9th, Johnny packed his bag, we lunched at a marina cafe and went to the marina hotel at 16.00 where we met a couple willing to share their taxi to the airport. The three departed, again in very heavy rain, for the airport at 16.45

Friday the  10th which started as a lovely sunny morning was when I decided to catch up with my paperwork. Our planned visit to the beach in the afternoon was cancelled because of heavy rain. Checked out of St Lucia in the marina located Customs and Immigration.

Johnnie had been with us for 18 days and cruised just 305 miles. It was his longest time aboard a yacht since his student days cruising with his uncle Hugh Kennedy from Bangor to Baltimore via Brittany in Tosca IV and Tosca V
