Very variable wind for the last 24hours. Motor on and off. Hatches closed and opened, as rain storms pass over, some with lightening, a bit ominous at night.

Saw two ships pass within eye sight last night, which is really unusual, shows our proximity to the coast again, perhaps.

Yesterday, after enduring another sweaty humid day skipper allowed us some fun. We furled the sails away, helm tied hard over and wasted no time in jumping in. Stuart and I as nature intended, luckily nothing around fancied the bait (Jokes on a postcard to the Atlantic Equator Visitor Centre please). Very freeing to swim out here in the middle of nowhere. The pool was lovely and warm, and so deep I couldn't touch the bottom, about 4.5km. Chris went round and checked the hull out while he had the chance.

We've hooked a number of fish, but all bar one escaped before we had them on board. The one we did pull in was too small to keep, a baby yellowfin tuna.

Our 24hrs runs aren't impressive at the moment: 117nm, 163nm and 143nm yesterday.

We're beating to wind now, so the boat motion has changed to bow to stern rocking, rather than side to side rolling. Will be interesting when we hit the stronger winds further north.
