Dinghy stop in Shelter Bay, Colon

After diving in Columbia, we had a fast 250 mile sail to Panama. The seas were bigger than forecast when we crossed the bay & we had to skirt around the headland in deep water to avoid the rougher seas on the beam.

We've been here 2 days and picked up a new hard bottomed rib. This will make life so much easier at anchor and allow us to carry the dive kit from the yacht.

We've also picked up another crew member for a couple of weeks. Sian is Andy's wife who is on for a while in the San Blas.

Panama is an interesting place. The jungle on the side of the road is really dense & full off life. The town is dominated by the Canal & traffic to & from the marina has to pass over the canal. If the lock is open then everyone has to wait & it can be up to an hour. Nobody appears to mind & life goes on..........

So, today I hope the officials deliver our cruising permit so that we can slip & head for the San Blas.
