Well, all things are relative, first chocolate in days. Stuart cooked brownies today, what a treat. It was a muffin mix made in a large tray, perhaps more like chocolate bruffin, very tasty. While discussing the pros (there are no cons) of chocolate, Antonello started chocolate top trumps with his Lindt dark. I joined with Green and Blacks Dark Ginger, thanks to Chris and Maddie. Antonello won with 99% cocoa, but I think I had the morale victory as mine didnt invert the mouth with bitterness.

In other news, we are running ahead of a F4, swell still coming at a jaunty angle and rolling us around. Without the ballooner we are goose-winged, where jib and main are flown on opposite sides of the yacht. But, we also have the mizzen main out astern of the jib, so take that goose with its wings outstretched and imagine it standing, facing the wind, lifting its left foot, sole to the wind. Goose-wing-foot. Well, its late and it amuses me.

Only 159 miles in the 24hrs to 1400 yesterday. 571 miles to go from now. Hopefully 4 days, although we have lighter winds forecast for the next few days. All well, feeling safe and comfortable aboard Rhumb Runner.

Only 154 miles in the last 24hrs to 1400 today, but we hooked 3 dorado. I lost one on the stern as I tried to hold it down. The second was bigger, I pulled it in and held it down with Chris as he killed it. I filleted it, a first, and as today is my cooking day, I cooked it for supper, in butter with lemon and capers, on a veggie stew. Easily fed 4 of us with seconds. We hooked a 3rd but it was raining, so we were too reluctant to get it in quickly, it got itself lose.

I really fancy going for a walk! Its quite claustrophobic.

Wind got weaker over the last hours and we got (again) some rain, which provides a good washing for the rigging and the deck!
The air has become hot, first day we feel a real African summer while at sea.
No fishing today, probably we are all well nourished by the great fish we had the last several days...
A special thought goes to my wife Dagmar, celebrating today, in the northern hemisphere, her n-th birthday: "Herzliche Glueckswuensche Dasmina!" :-)
