We are now 30hrs from St Helena. We've had a frustratingly slow couple of days with really light wind. Yesterday we motor sailed for a two periods when the wind dropped out. Only made 124miles in the 24hrs to 1400 yesterday. We're still running goose-winged with all sail up.

Looking forward to seeing St Helena appear Friday morning.

We have another yacht closing in on us. Really annoying. All this way without sight of other vessels, now a day out we will be passed before arriving. Hopefully there is more than one free mooring bouy. Looking forward to seeing it pass, if we do, its 19m long with 2.7m keel, a biggie.

This morning while laying the fishing lines Stuart and Attonello caught a Dorado on each line! Both were landed and cleaned ready for cooking today.

The double dorado was an excellent lunch, Attonello cooked one whole and in fillets in a rich tomato sauce with veg.

The 19m yacht passed us yesterday evening, making about a knot more than us. to ease the wound we both passed another yacht early this morning. All headed on the rhumb line from Cape Town to St Helena. Its a race for the mooring bouys.

We have been running with wind directly behind for days now. Overnight we gybed the main over to port so we can make more to north and get round the top of St Helena, the easier route.

Yesterday we ran 140miles. We are now 41miles off, 7hrs.

Land Ho! Land sighted at 39nm.

Picked up a mooring buoy at 13.55. 11 days after departing Cape Town.
