So the wind changed & died at times so we had to motor headed south'ish. This meant we missed the Galapagos islands. On the plus side the wind has been much better than we thought when we set off. For the past couple of days we have been close hauled and more or less sailing directly to the Marquesas which are currently only 2748 miles away. We've logged 1233 miles in just over 7 days which is great progress when we though we would have been motoring slowly all the way to this point.

A couple of days ago we crossed the equator and our Pollywogs: Pat, Paul & Dan became Shellbacks. They had to be cleansed of the North by crawling around the deck while being hosed with salt water by Neptune. This would have been fine in the normal hot weather but we had a cold spell & they had to take off their fleeces & long trousers! All the more fun :-). This was followed by Champagne to toast the crossing.

As we've just crossed the 90' Meridian we've put our clocks back so we are now -6 from UT and -7 from British Summer Time.

Currently heading 220' which is a little south of our course but we're aiming to pick up the stronger winds which are forecast.

Fishing - hooked a couple of small ones but they got away...
