The good news is that we're allowed to continue to Lord Howe - turned out to be my misinterpretation of the email. So we're all pleased about that. The weather has closed in again, we've barely seen a patch of sky for about 24 hours now - thick cloud, raining about half the time and the wind is back up to 25kts. We're just over 100miles short of Lord Howe, which is directly downwind of us now, so we're gybing our way towards a well earned rest (and hopefully some dry and warmer weather for a couple of days). We're back to two reefs in the main and still got the trusty #4 jib up. It's been a slower day overall, but we've done close to 200 miles again. It is noticably colder. We've all been pulling out the fleeces, hats, boots and thermals (where we have them!) and sleeping bags deployed at night.

Mao hasn't been feeling his best but is soldiering on - no doubt looking forward to a break more than the rest of us.

All being well, we'll be safely tied up to one of the mooring buoys by mid morning tomorrow.
