An even slower day, just 110nm. Mostly under engine, with some upwind motorsailing. We've found some wind in the last couple of hours, and are now close hauled on port making about 6kts in about 12kts of wind. Unfortunately we're being pushed a little north of our ideal track, but hopefully the winds will back again as per the forecast.

So some very pleasant sailing this afternoon, the seastate is very slight so although we're heeled over we're not getting wet or crashing into any waves. Looking at the weather it's going to be more of the same for the next day or so.

We had a couple of light shapes swimming alongside us last night for quite some time - a couple of hours. We couldn't figure out what they were - each time we used the torch all we could see was the surface of the water. They were about 3-4m long and we recon could have been whales. We bore away briefly to see if they would follow, and they did. No sign of them today though.

Not much luck on the fishing front - although green muppet did come in with what looked to be a fish jawbone attached - at least some evidence of activity. We've recently deployed pink fluffy 2 - of which I have high expectations! There are definitely fish about - we've seen a few tuna jumping out of the water just to leeward of the boat - taunting us perhaps??

Had some drinks cans explode on us early this morning - they're in the bilges near to the engine and couldn't cope with the heat after 12hours of motoring...
