We set off yesterday about lunchtime, aiming to get some good miles under our belt the first few days with some reasonably strong  but stable south easterlies. The wind has been a little stronger than expected, but nothing wild - about 25kts most of yesterday and dropping a few knots mostly so far today. We started off with the wind infront of the beam, and now have it just behind. #4 jib and main up with 2 reefs. Making good progress, averaging just over 9kts, so we've done over 200miles since we left. It's pretty wet sailing and not the most comfortable, but it's getting better, the sun is shining (mostly) and we're going in the right direction. The seas have been pretty confused, but seem to be getting better.
