The end of day six and in the last twenty-four hours we ran 127 NM, a little over the minimum required to make our intended average speed of 5 knots. The wind has weakened slightly and is veering around to SSE, we need it to stay like this for at least two more days before the expected arrival at the southern limit of the 'Horse Latitudes'.

All is well on board. Last night, Nirit was the only one to manage a few hours sleep. She does this by wedging herself sideways across the double bed with her feet resting on the downwind side of the hull, effectively sleeping leaning up. Yael tried sleeping in the cockpit but the colder air and dampness got the better of her. Shmulik found the forward cabin to be hot and stuffy and I constantly slipped out of the berth I fashioned from the saloon sofa.

Still no fish! Great clumps of sargasso weed find the line then ride down it to the lure. This hides the lure from any potential source of pelagic protein and eventually triggers a false alarm; the reel screams and line plays out as the weight of the weed reaches a critical mass. I've decided to forgo fishing until the last of the weed is behind us.

On Thursday night we'll be live on the GALATZ radio show 'Ziperei Layla' which is on air at 2300 Israel time. I've no idea how far into the show they'll come to us.
