    The wind died!
 
Just as we were doing so well we ran into a dead patch. Absolute calm. It happened at midday on Sunday Jan 2. We struggled to keep ourselves moving for a couple of hours but then decided to start the engine.
 
"I can't believe you did  that," was Nirit's comment. My excuse was that if we aren't under way, we fry. The day is extremely hot and humid now the breeze has stopped. I've decided to use the engine for twelve hours and see what develops. In the latest weather map there looks like breeze at our location around midnight.
 
In the meantime Shmulik hooked the biggest Mahi-mahi of the voyage. We don't have scales to weigh it but as you can see from this photo, it's a whopper. As a bonus, we found two undigested sardines in its belly.
