Arriving at Virgin Gorda in the B.V.I. after a night sail from St Maarten. Our stay is St Maarten was a success in that we found the spare parts we were looking for and a technician to fix the water maker, but the Simpson Bay Lagoon is a real swamp! There are plenty of yachts in there which seem to have become stuck in the mud in the figurative sense; we met sailors who have been there for twelve years. Quite sad really. We enjoyed the bars - Soggy Dollar and Barnacles - and spent a wonderful Friday evening with Rabbi Moshe Chanowitz, his family and some other wandering Jews. We we're glad to leave.
