Lazy Sunday
Trade wind slumbers
Trade wind clouds
Sunday Dec 26th. We've been taking it easy and it shows. Our daily distance run for the last 24 hours has been the lowest since leaving Mindelo and our average speed is down to 5.5 knots. Everyone on board is fine with this. True, we could have had the spinnaker up or we could have tried 'wing on wing' with two headsails, but we're not in a hurry and adding extra speed will make it harder to sleep, cook and eat. Not to mention the likelihood of more wear and tear on the rigging.

Not much else to report from this lazy Sunday. The fish didn't bite, we sighted neither ships nor whales. The winds are very steady from the north east with a two meter swell. The sea water temperature is 30 degrees celcius which I find surprising for the Atlantic. Warmer water means we get better results from our desalination unit, in fact I measured at 100 liters an hour.
