Ahoy Sailors
Its us again; after a few days without update i have a number of items i would like to share with you.
Last time i mentioned the cold front from the US, in order to avoid most of it we decided to go south knowing that this will extend our ETA to the BVI by at least a day. Sure enough we currently looking at getting there by Tuesday the earliest which brings me on the subject of resources.
As you all know since there is no QuickyMart in the ocean to do your shopping you have to take all of what you may need with you so an additional day or two at sea is a big deal as it puts a strain on an already dwindling resources. After a quick check of our fridge we realised that we had (for a while) a choice of cold chicken with cheese or cheese with cold chicken; not much of a choice if you ask me. It was at that time that we decided to delve into mother nature larder and get some fresh fish.
We quickly located or fishing gear and promptly set a line and presto casted it into the deep blue sea. Sure enough a few minutes later A Pull On The Line.. what a joy as we got ready for a long and hard battle we were soon disappointed when the line snapped!!!. After   bringing quickly what was left of it into the boat we realised that the line has been cut sharp obviously by something with sharp teeth... A Shark we concluded and at that moment only one sentence cam to mind: WE GONNA NEED A BIGGER LINE!!!!
With that we decided to return to our cold chicken and cheese.
That same night while on my watch i was attacked by a flying fish; at firs i though some part of bimini  or spray hood had collapsed on me but when i shined the light the only thing i could see was a flying fish gasping for sea water, i did the only decent thing, i threw it back where it came from and looked at it disappearing in the darkness on the deep ocean without so much as i thank you.
On another subject we are now in the middle of calm ocean with no wind and a temperature of over 30 C (see pictures); Mot people will be happy at that prospect but for us its borderline disastrous as not only we are not making a lot of progress as the wind has been taking out of our sales (ha ha!!) but we are also finding hard with the sun as we need to rehydrate more and hence put more stress on our water but no fears we still have plenty to get us to land.
I hope you will join us next time when i am will be (with a bit of luck) telling you about the feeling of seeing land after over 3 weeks at sea.
Till Next Time
Captain Ben Signing off Rrrrrr!!!
