Malua was at 12:52.82N 61:11.39W at noon on 31/12/2012 at Britannia Bay Mustique
They say this is the most exclusive island in the Caribbean with holiday homes for Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Raquel Welch and the late Princess Margaret but all I can say is the bay is deep and the holding poor so we decided not to stop. The anchoring fee of $75 per night had no influence on our decision! We did talk to the harbour master and ask if we could stop to eat our lunch which he said we could with pleasure.
I must say the houses are beautifully designed and well hidden in a lush covering of tropical vegetation. Golf carts are the order of the day on the island so there are no noisy cars racing about and definitely no taxis.
The bay contained a number of very large super sailing boats from all over the world plus a smattering of 50 to 60 foot yachts - one from New Zealand supporting an ARC flag. Say no more, say no more.
We left after lunch- ham of course and sailed down wind to Bequia for new years eves celebration.
A magical moment on Malua
