We're in Ponta Delgarda at the start of race day for the return leg.
James is getting the fishing tackle ready, and I hope that most of the
problems from the trip downed are fixed. We are without a spinnaker
pole, but hopefully that won't cause too many problems.

I've just put Jo on an aeroplane after a great couple of days. Last
night was really nice with a 'pontoon party' organised by Eddy followed
by supper on board Halcyon with Eddy and Harriet from Scherzo and Colin,
Becky and Lucy from Zulu Warrior - it was one of those impromptu
evenings that just happened and make a trip like this memorable.

I think that on the way down, the SSB fried several bits of electronics
- which was why we couldn't do emails. I've now replaced the broken
bits and covered them in Aluminium foil - so hopefully it'll keep the
harmful RF waves out. We'll see.

The weather looks varied. A gentle start this morning will be followed
by no wind tonight - the entire fleet will be bobbing around next to
each other, I suspect. Then the wind should build from the SW and
give us a good run towards home. If we want more wind, we turn left -
less wind turn right! It probably won't be that simple.
