Evening all,
It is now about 9>45 and I am writing this just prior to going to try
to get some sleep. I am up again at 3:00 for my watch. Half as a
standby to the person on main watch and half actually on watch.
It has been a bit quieter today after the rather surprising and frenetic
start.
The self furler on the jib needs a little coaxing when in use, but we
hope that once we get steady winds this won't be often.
Tonight we are nicely settled with the main and the small jib
goosewinged out and currently doing a pleasing 7.5 or 8 knots nearly
straight downwind, whats more in the direction we want.
We are heading slightly south of the direction of the shortest route to
St Lucia, because we hope that will lead us to better winds.
Dolphins today! Again. These arrived with a Marine World like
flourish, stayed for about 10 minutes and then went on their way.
Pictures tomorrow, perhaps.
For pictures tonight I leave you with two faces of Alistair Gurney.
One coming down the forestay from the top of the mast and the
other carving the Ham!
All the best to everyone, and keep he messages coming. We love to hear
from you all
Steve
