THe sun is rising after a rough 1st night at sea. The predicted force
4 or 5 turned into 7 occasionally 8. We're now surfing down some big
seas! We've got the No2 jib poled out using the small pole and it's
doing very well. Heidi is coping brilliantly - much better than
anybody else. She's holding her course as surf and glide.

We had a close encounter with a seismic survey vessel towing 5 miles of
hydrovanes, 1 mile wide. We passed in front and hurried away after
reassuring them on the radio that we were getting out of their path.
