At last the forecast is good to go!  Having said a sad farewell to our lovely next door neighbours Michael and Michelle and 1 yr old Charlotte we left Marina Bay, Gibraltar and headed for the Canaries.  Dave, myself and we were lucky enough to have my son Ben with us, he'd managed to organise his work and leave his family, Marie, Joe and Tess.
The forecast was 15 knots of westerly wind so we were expecting at least 30 knots going past Tarifa, the windiest place in Europe, which is why there are so many wind generators.
The straits were very kind to us Dave had plotted a good route through going fairly close to the Spanish coast, in fact we were overtaking some super yachts who had taken a middle route.
