Dear sail friends,

At 7.30h local time we crossed the half way line! Time rushes when you having fun, but what an amazing distance. We celebrated this event with an 12 o'clock rum and beer.  I never realised that during a crossing we "need" to celebrate so many things. Our second party of today was our early morning catch of a nice 3.8 kg blue fin tuna fish. Chris bought us some lovely Mac Burgers at Mac Sail which is stationed at the middle of the Ocean. McD we love you.

During the early morning we got a close encounter of the "Bepa", a Rusian ARC sailer, at about 5 miles. Another happening which we need to celebrate at 5 o'clock. So you see we have busy time. It is amazing that after 8 days of sailing, in the middle of the Ocean, you can use your VHF to talk to an other ship. Just after sun rise they sailed away towards south, on starbord tack. The wind is varying between south aqmd south west and only 5-10 knots. The wheather forcast tells us that we now should have E of 15 knots. We keep on hoping for the real trade winds and just starting the motor for an other half hour or more...

Cheers, Etienne
