We finally christened our Cobb barbecue the other night. Chris rustled up piri-piri chicken breasts and roast vegetables. Top marks to the chef. It's so nice to be able to eat dinner in the cockpit now – it was always too cold in the evenings in the Canaries.

We made it to the World War Two tunnels whilst they were open. It's worth the walk up the hill, and also well worth paying for a guide. There's 32 miles of tunnels inside the Rock, living quarters, three hospitals and about 4000 military personnel. We saw just a fraction but it was fascinating.

We haven't been to the top of the Rock this time here so we haven't seen any of the famous barbary apes; instead Chris did a good impression of one by hanging off the top of our mast. After a 1000 mile journey and previous problems with the spreaders Chris wanted to check everything was still intact and give the mast a good clean. So I winched him up there, following his instructions on our little walkie-talkies. It's 20m above deck, rather him than me!

I'm struggling to put photos on the blog so please make friends with Deca Dance on Facebook and have a nosey if you like.  I'm also having problems retrieving voicemail so if you're one of the two people who have recently left messages please text me!

If the gribs (weather forecast files) look ok we'll be leaving tomorrow. Perhaps...
