Christmas was cancelled yesterday.  After a rotten Christmas Eve at sea with the boat slamming so badly no one could sleep, and Rob sea sick and Chris threatening to join him, we were frazzled by Christmas morning.  Cue bilge alarms at 8 am and bilges full of drinking water.  Happy Christmas!

So we had a busy day pumping out the boat, mainly by hand as the auto pump still keeps blocking with GRP dust, finding the leak and some calmer sea (thanks Nigel), and fixing the pipe.  So we were in no mood for presents and goodies (not that Rob could have kept anything down anyway) and postponed our celebrations until today.

Today, we've had calmer seas and better tempers and it's the first day it's been warm enough for shorts and bare feet.  Chris had a wash on deck in a bucket of saltwater just like the olden days, and we needed sunglasses to ward off the reflection of the sun from his white chest.  Later, we opened our presents underneath the Christmas tree on deck with goodies and a glass of bubbles each.

To top it off nicely, Chris has just caught DecaDance's very first fish and is filleting it as I type as a starter for our Christmas dinner.  Talking of which I need to go pop it in the oven...

Merry Christmas (again)
