Yesterday we managed to have the best day's sailing so far followed by the worst night at anchor ever - and that includes the night at the illegal anchorage in Tenerife with Barbara.  In terms of wind speed and direction for where we wanted to go it was almost perfect, and we achieved the best consistent speeds and distances ever.  But the wind came round a bit too much towards the end of the day so rather than muck around tacking we stopped off at Ibiza Town.  Unfortunately, the bit of the bay we wanted to be in for the best protection was already full so we had to endure a side on swell all night, just like Tenerife.  However, in Tenerife the waves had a constant rhythm and the mast batted from side to side like the arm of a metronome.  In Ibiza the waves would die down and the boat would stop rocking for about 10 seconds, and then there were the most horrendous waves which rocked the boat so violently there didn't seem to be a part of DecaDance that wasn't creaking or squeaking.

So after no sleep and no breakfast we headed off to Formentera, making full use of the sails to hug along the coast and admire the many beaches.  Many other yachts, cats and mobos (motor-boats) had the same idea.  We're now anchored at Es Pujals along with everyman and his dog, or should that be cat.  Chris and I popped ashore, got a few groceries and sussed out the night-life.  There's a very good choice of restaurants so we're heading over again soon.
