And You thought it was wet in england.....

The past few days have been awash with strong winds and thunderstorms. We've had squalls with driving rain, waves over the boat, the only way to tell the difference being that the sea is warmer. We've heard tales on the radio's and by email of boats trailing warps because of the size of the waves and dismastings. One catamaran, not an arc participant lots their rig which holed the boat. They were recovered by some arc boats and the their vessel abandoned. On recieving an email notifying us of this, we found we were sailing down the track of the abandoned cat and it was dark by now. Avoiding action was taken.

Anyway the sun is up today and the cabin looks like a chinese laundry with all our kit hung up and drying. We've got the kite up and are making good speed so fingures crossed we'll be in soon.
