today, wind in the right direction, heard Falmouth coastguard on the VHF and
it feels there's a chance we might make it!! Seeing the influence of tides
proper again, adding or slowing us by over a knot at times. There are
however 149 nm to The Needles and 30 odd from there so still plenty of time
for things to break, but keeping fingers crossed and not even thinking about
it - will believe we've done it when our feet touch land.
Have put fishing line out, fishing boats around, seen fish jumping and birds
around, but no fish yet. Never mind, we haven't started on tinned tuna or
corned beef yet so all is well.
Fingers crossed for Saturday.
