The penultimate day of part one of our adventure, I was going to say that this was "the" last day, as we have moored up in the marina where the boat will stay for 2 weeks while we go home for Doug and Penny's wedding, no more sailing for two weeks. But, before part one is completely put to bed we have the journey home, this consists of; a bus, (specially requested to swing by the marina to pick us up!) , a ferry, a two and a half mile walk, two flights and then, bless him, Joe will collect us from Stansted and take us home! So, our last day of sailing and what a day! We had a, relatively early start, slipped the mooring at 7.30, absolute, flat calm.

We motored out of the bay and a few minutes later a pod of dolphins appeared! They swam alongside us for 10 minutes, treating us to their infectious cheeriness and enthusiasm for life, it was fantastic. Lots of wildlife out on The Sea of the Hebrides this morning, birds, seals and then....a minke whale! She didn't pass close to us, I thought 50 metres away, but Chris reckons 150 metres, anyway, we saw her long body, the fin, the steady glide through the water. No time for a photo, just complete awe!

After the excitement of the first hour or so, it was a straightforward motor to Lochboisdale, great facilities at this brand new marina, the boat will be secure, despite the 40 mph wind forecast for Tuesday.
I'm so excited about going home, we'll see all our boys, Penny, and Chris's parents on Sunday, I've tried to keep my mind from drifting into wedding preparation mode. As Doug says, with 100 people that we love and who love us, and that much booze, what else do we need for a fantastic party.....just my hat then!
