Climbed Ben Nevis today, it was amazing. The Caledonian Canal and Ben Nevis were always going to be two of the highlights of the trip for me and neither has disappointed us. We were so lucky to have a beautiful, clear day with views for miles in every direction. Top 500 metres was snow-covered, very pretty, tough going up but gentle on the knees coming down.
We're still in canal, near Fort William. We have fantastic views towards Ben Nevis, nice feeling having finally been to the top.
Really windy night tonight, boat is groaning and shifting and pulling on her ropes, not very peaceful. Tomorrow we'll go down the 8 locks of Neptune's Staircase and then head out to sea at Corpach, to the West Coast and it's Islands.
Very tired, all three of us, but not sure how restful the night will be.
