Dear Vicar,

We came across this vacancy and though it would be perfect for you.
The Beach Church is on Stocking Island, just 1/2 milefrom the metropolis of Georgetown, Exuma. (See Google Earth)  It has a small population which swells in the winter with up to 1000 cruisers who live on their boats in the extensive harbour.  The church was founded in 2002 by cruisers and has neither a warden, a pastor, any personnel or building.  It also has the benefit of having no running costs (please note this is a non-stipendiary position).

Advantages include:

Year-round warm weather
Abundant fishing both shallow and offshore

We are seeking a go-ahead,flexible character with outgoing personality who can engage with locals and visitors alike. Essential skills include the ability to drive a rubber dinghy, wearing cool shades, and the ability to delivery a simple message without the use of greek (Americans do not know greek). Regrettably there are no facilities for PowerPreach presentations.

In order to familiarize you with the church, here are a few photos.

View from the Pulpit.  N.B.  All equipment required is in the drum -please bring your own Bible.

Our view.  Note: The service area is shaded throughout the day. As a consequence there is no limitation on sermon length.

The Parking area. Since there are no roads, we only need to park boats.

Pastor's office.  This area also adjoins the beach bar and grill for social events.

The church property is in  daily use on a common sense basis.  The old folks come and play dominoes in the service area daily. The younger folks play volleyball in the afternoons till tea time.  The adjoining bar and grill is open for community use and ministry every day and hosts pig roasts on Sunday afternoons (incenticve to keep sermon length down.)

Applications are on a first-come first-served basis.
