This area was beautiful, but we had to wend our way through coral reefs very carefully. We went and visted Great bird Island and there were 3 naturalists who were doing a census of a snake which is only found on this island and nowhere else in the world. Apparently it has been in decline because the island became over run with rats who killed the snakes. The rats have been mostly dealt with now so they are injecting chips into the ones they catch so they can keep a record on them. They live in 2 large blowholes which are holes in the rock coming up from the sea, which waves force pressure up.

Landing on Bird Island - paradise eh??
