We anchored here for a quick fill-up on veggies before we leave the USA for the Bahamas.

We've had a variable trip down the ICW.  The first day was just like cruising in the UK at this time of year - apart from the fact there was no rain!  However, we got down to Vero Beach and it got warm - so we stayed 2 nights!  We found more to buy at Publix especially since there was a free bus service from the marina. We evnetually got going from Vero but not before picking up a lot of school text books for delivery to the settlement of Black Point in the Bahamas.  They were all boxed and labelled by the volunteers at the SSCA (Seven Seas Cruising Association) so all we had to do was to load the dinghy with them and find somewhere to store them in the boat- they're currently in the port shower!

Anyway- back to Ft Lauderdale - having spent overnight in Peck Lake near Stuart and visited briefly with Nancy and George of the OCC (Ocean Cruising Club) we motored through wind and rain to get to our ideal jumping-off point to the Bahamas. We also had the dubious privilege of going through the section of the ICW that has the most bridges with restricted opening which meant a bit of hurry up and wait sailing.

Anyway - ready to go for the morning

All the best - J 'n J
