This island was one of the most beautiful places with white sand, deserted beaches and happy people. The inhabitants amount to just over 200 and there are 7 cars on the island. They only got electricity within the last few years , but you can now get internet if you visit one of the cafes. The people rely upon tourist trade and have the occasional small cruise ship anchor in the harbour which is a lifeline to them. There are several bars and restaurants just for the tourists and with the worlds economy as it is, they are suffering.

We met Patrick who cooked us the most amazing lobster feast on the beach. They were 5 pound in weight and it was enormous even though we had just half a one each. He provided jacket potatoes also and the barbecue (we discovered in daylight the next day) was an old fridge turned on its fron and the grill at the back became the barbecue!! It cost us 100EC $ which is approx £23 or $35 US dollars. A lot for the area but it was worth every penny

The view from inside the boat as we sailed into the bay
