Amazing Grace
John and Julie

Relax - it was deliberate!  We decided to beach Amazing Grace for a tide at Alvor in the Algarve so we could repaint some places where we had seen the antifouling had worn off.  We needed to keep this protective coating on the bottom intact to prevent the wee sea beasties from colonising us and making us slow...

The night before....

So we found a good spot and let the tide go out.  John scraped and painted, inspected, polished the propellers and then some of the hull - the bits we could reach anyway!!  Julie kept him well supplied with drinks and food but not enough to stop his hands from shrivelling up like he'd been in the bath too long!

Then the tide started to come back in so we waited and shortly before 11pm, we were afloat again. We motored the short distance back to a deeper spot and anchored for the night.
