We finally made it into Horta crossing the finish line at 0815hrs on the Tuesday morning. It had taken us 12 days and 20 hours to complete the 1,800 miles from Bermuda.

We stayed nearly a week in Horta to enjoy some well earned R&R including a tour of the island, some long steep walks, a cycle ride around the interior and visits to the cheese factory and the volcano museum. By the time the week was us we had had enough time there are were ready to move on.

We set sail for the Town of Angra on Terciera, calling in at Soa Jorge on way and from there we headed for Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel which is where we are now awaiting the start of the final leg on Saturday so we have some sightseeing planned for tomorrow and the reprovisioning before setting off at midday on Saturday.
